From Homeschool Mom to Small Business Owner - A Story of Heart and CommunityHi, I'm Liz, and Kids World Of Asheboro is truly my passion project born from personal experience and a deep love for our community.My Journey: As a mom of three amazing kids - two boys and a girl - I know firsthand the challenges families face. During my years as a single mom, I remember standing in stores, wanting so badly to dress my children in cute, name-brand clothing but watching my whole paycheck disappear with just a few items. That feeling of having to choose between style and budget broke my heart, and I promised myself that other parents wouldn't have to feel that way.My Background: I've always been a go-getter - I graduated high school at 16 and earned my associate's degree in general education. My career path has been diverse: I've worked as a CNA caring for others, as a 911 dispatcher helping my community in crisis, delivered pizzas, and even passed the POPAT for law enforcement. Through every job, I discovered my true calling was working with people and building relationships.My Why: I've always loved working around kids and dreamed of owning my own business that would truly connect with people. When I opened Kids World in 2019, I combined my love for children, my entrepreneurial spirit, and my personal understanding of what families need. Every $.99 onesie we sell and every carefully selected boutique piece represents my commitment to making sure every child can look adorable without their parents sacrificing their budget.My Promise: At Kids World, you're not just a customer - you're family. Meet Bobby - Co-Owner & Liz's Partner in Everything
The Heart Behind the ScenesMeet Bobby, our co-owner and Liz's true partner in crime! Their story began at the 911 Communication Center, where Bobby witnessed Liz's entrepreneurial dreams firsthand. When she was ready to take the leap into business ownership, Bobby didn't hesitate - he took that leap of faith right alongside her.The Perfect Partnership: While Liz brings the vision and community connection, Bobby handles all the "behind the scenes stuff that isn't as fun" - think taxes, payroll, reports, and financials. Together, they're goal-driven and competitive, working in perfect unison to make Kids World the success it is today.More Than Meets the Eye: Don't let his background in emergency services fool you - Bobby served as a Police Officer, Firefighter, and 911 dispatcher, but he's actually the funny one of the bunch and our unofficial "human resources expert." He may look like a big tough guy, but he's nothing more than a teddy bear and is surprisingly more easy-going than Liz!Family First: Bobby and Liz share a daughter together, and he's also the proud dad of a son who recently became a State Trooper. His love for kids shows in everything he does - from his years coaching youth football to being Dad/Crew Chief for his son's go-cart racing adventures.Fun Facts: Need to know anything about NASCAR? Bobby's your guy. Got a question about Case Law? He can handle that too. Meet Sam - Our Amazing Manager & Family
The Heart That Keeps Us GoingSam has been a part of our team since 2020, and honestly, we can't imagine Kids World without her! Her journey with us started when she walked in one day with an application, simply wanting something to do outside of being a stay-at-home mom 24/7. Little did we know, we were about to gain so much more than an employee - we were about to gain family.She Passed Every Test: When Sam came in for her trial run, Liz didn't go easy on her - cleaning bathrooms, organizing, sorting, you name it. Sam passed flawlessly, showing us right away that she was ready for anything Kids World could throw at her.More Than an Employee: Sam may not be related by blood, but she is absolutely our family. She's been with us through everything, inside and out of the store. As an amazing mother to her son and with her background in nursing, Sam brings that natural caring spirit to every customer interaction.Her Special Talents: Sam is incredibly gifted - she's a talented photographer, craft maker, and truly one of a kind. She always has a smile on her face and has an amazing ability to learn our consignors quickly, making everyone feel welcomed and remembered.The Sam Experience: Here's the thing about Sam - she tends to have a bit of a bad luck streak that follows her around. Spiders always seem to find her, she gets stabbed with the tag gun more than anyone should, and if something can go wrong with a procedure... it probably will happen to Sam! But here's what makes her extraordinary: Sam will show up to work the next day in crutches or whatever's necessary because she loves this store and our customers that much.Our Best Friend: Sam isn't just our manager - she's our best friend who genuinely loves Kids World as much as we do.
